Our school, like most other non-profit educational institutions, charges less than the actual cost of the education and makes up the difference through other tax-deductible giving opportunities, such as the Annual Fund and the Spring Auction. These two fundraisers are the primary sources that bridge the gap between fees charged and the overall cost of operating the school. We depend on these funds not only to meet the basic needs of the school but also to enhance all facets of education in both the Early Childhood Education Center and Academy programs.

We strive to keep the Preschool and Academy programs affordable and accessible to a diverse population of families who are seeking excellence in education with a strong Christian foundation. If we increased our fees some families would not be able to afford it, leaving additional higher costs to be absorbed by even fewer families. Additionally, donations made to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible as is some of the money families spend at the Spring Auction; tuition is not.

Each year, we forecast the Annual Fund income and the Spring Auction income just as we do the income generated from the ECEC and the Academy. We are continually evaluating programs, personnel, operations, and curriculum, with a desire to wisely manage the funds God provides to us through our generous supporters and families. This prayerful evaluation includes reducing expenses whenever possible without compromising the quality of our staff or programs. If we are unable to balance our budget we would be faced with challenging decisions about staff, programs, and other educational enhancements.

Annual Fund Drive

In 2005, we determined to eliminate the myriad of labor intensive fundraisers formerly used by the school in place of a single, direct giving campaign. The "Catch the Vision Annual Fund Drive" functions to provide the WCA community an opportunity for direct giving to the Annual Fund to support the school's ministry.

Spring Dinner & Auction

The Spring Dinner & Auction is a wonderful evening for Westminster community fellowship and local area business support. It's an exciting night consisting of a silent and live auction, dinner, and entertainment.

This year's event is Friday, February 6th, 7pm at South Shore Harbour Resort & Conference Center.

Fundraising can be as easy as bringing your paper recycling to WCA. Simply bring your paper, newspapers, and catalogs with you when you drop off or pickup your child.

  • Recycle paper in the Green and Yellow Bin in our parking lot
  • Bring us your paper, newspapers, and catalogs
  • No phone books or cardboard

Gift Cards

Earn money for WCA by ordering pre-paid cards through our Scrip Card program and using them to pay for your groceries, gas, dining out, and just about everything else.

We have a HUGE inventory of cards in the office available to purchase during school hours.  We also place orders frequently so let us know what you need!  A little planning ahead on big purchases such as appliances, home repairs, Christmas shopping, etc. can turn into easy money for the school.

Fundraising FAQ

Q: Who is asked to give to our fundraisers?

A: Everyone in the school community – alumni, parents, grandparents, church members, the school board, staff and businesses all give to our fundraisers. Involvement is the key! Our goal is 100% participation. If everyone gives to the best of their ability, we will more than exceed our goals. Your participation generates enthusiasm and encourages others to join you in supporting the school.

Q: What other fundraisers does WCA do?

A: In 2005, we eliminated the myriad of labor intensive fundraisers in favor of a single, direct annual giving campaign called “Catch the Vision”. Our only other fundraiser is the auction gala in the spring. That’s it! No wrapping paper, candy, or door-to-door sales.

Q: How does the church support the school?

A: Having the support of Bay Area Presbyterian Church is a unique strength of WCA. The church spends 57% of its budget on facilities, including the cost of major upgrades, maintenance and utilities. In contrast, WCA expends only 6% of its budget to rent the facilities at a below market rate.

Q: How and when is the money spent?

A: Annual Fund donations and profits from the Spring Auction are put into action as soon as they are received. These funds enable us to meet this year’s operating expenses such as paying for the salary of your favorite teacher, new software, nap mats, toys for the gym, projectors, soccer balls, white-boards, and so much more!
